Southeastern Grain Gathering Logo

The first Southeastern Grain Gathering will occur in Lexington KY Sept 15-16. The gathering will focus on the breeding and development of grains and focus on variation in flavor and consistency. Featured keynote talks include a history of cooking across the world and the origin and rebirth of southern cuisine; hands-on workshops focused on fermentation and baking from wood fired pizza to sourdough rye loaves to freshly milled whole grain bagels; and conversations about how variation in flavor could infuse the mash bills of bourbon and other spirits. The importance of local small grain value chains will feature the North Carolina farmer-miller-baker experience. The final schedule of classes, workshops and talks will be posted shortly before the SE Grain Gathering kicks off. Click on image or here to download PDF.
